My first batch of coturnix in the incubator, I was candling at lockdown time and I dropped an egg, breaking open the alive chick which had no possible chance to survive. I had never dropped a chicken egg in years and years but dropped on my first quail batch. Don't be too hard on yourself.

I am still trying to figure out why I want to raise quail. In a few days when they start pipping, I'll be rejuvenated.

Might want to give the incubator a good going over before anything too... try to secure everything better. It sounds like it didnt hold enough heat
