My opinion is a hot mess on some breeds.
I'm using a LG 9300. Still air until day 5 when I received the fan kit.
My temps were 101-102 up until I received the fan, then a steady 99.5-100.7
I'm running dry, but being in S Texas, the humidity was between 40-45% up until day 9 when I added a cup of rice to the bator and able to get it ride at 27-35%.
All my eggs were shipped. I let them sit for 24hrs before setting. They were and still are fat side up in a carton. Hand turning 3-7 times a day.

Started with 48. Day 10 I tossed the clears and a few quitters.
Today I candles the remaining 29. All progressing with lots of movement.

Can you help this first timer on the status of the air cells at this point and tell me what adjustments I should make.

I've labeled each breed and for the sake of discussions, each egg.

The Sussex's are some hardy fellows. All developed with minimal quitters.

The Orpington's
400

RIR
400

Serama's
400

And the rest I feel are a hot mess.

The bielefelders. Rolling air sacks. Saddled. Several were clear. Out of 9, these are the only ones hanging in there.

You'll see the green marks. Those are from today. The pencil marks were from days 7 and 10.

Thoughts?

Overall-on the average- I'd say they look good. (Especially for shipped eggs.) Some are a tad bigger than average, but they all seem to be progressed to the 14+. If I changed anything at this point it would be to keep the humidity at 35%+ and not much lower because they are on the + side of 14. I can not judge saddle air cells as I have never incubated them. I'd say you are looking pretty good.

Oh that's so reassuring to hear.

I'm kinda of worried about those bielefelders because they were the only reason I decided to incubate..but I didnt want them to be lonely in the bator...well, I kinda got a little crazy and before I realized it, I had to stop because the bator was full.

I promised I wouldn't put too much faith in a huge hatch, but as the days have ticked by, I'm starting to feel a little anxious. And now the challenge to get them all into lock down

Hopefully you'll at least get a few from all of them, if not all!!

So I l8cked my eggs down this morning. Filled 2 of the chambers of warm water and placed a small cup with a sponge inside. Humidity was up to 78% but dropped to 50% and I can't get it back up by adding hot water to the sponge via the vent hole & a straw.

Help!please

Have you tried taking the sponge out and wetting it so you know it's good and wet and sticking it back in? I usually have 2-3 sponges in mine. (I just wet them and lay them on the floor of the bator and rewet when necessary.) Holds it right around the 75%.(Even when the ambient humidty is down.) And yes, you can open the bator. I wouldn't be opening the bator a lot during pipping and zipping if my humidity was only 50%. I would only open it to add water at that low. However, once you have humidity built up and holding above 65% (70-75% is great if you have to open the bator) then opening shouldn't be an issue as long as it's not prolonged and you can get the humidity right back up.

I soaked the sponge before I put it in and made sure the cup was full when i slide it in.
I can add another one too.
So you put yours on the tray or under it?

I put it them right on the screen that the eggs sit on. That way I can just quickly pull one out and wet it when I need more humidity and slide it back in. At lockdown I do fill all my wells and add a small cup under the screen. I add the wet sponges above the screen for the extra humidity and so I can keep it controlled better w/o having to take the top of the bator off and mess with adding to the wells.

How are you hatching the eggs? Upright, or are you laying them on their sides?

I have them in the cartons with the bottoms cut out. These are shipped eggs and some of the air sacks are saddled and/or rolling. Should I not do that method?
