Wow are they growing fast! The 2'x3' foot wire dog kennel brooder is quickly becoming too small for them - soon (guessing within the next week or two) they will need something bigger. They are all quite content, very infrequent are they screaming. The Easter Egger "Mel" appears to be the "mother" of the brood. She's always watching to see where others are. The Barred Rock "Oreo" is quickly becoming my favorite as she likes to jump/fly out of the door onto my lap to be scratched on her neck and ears - pin feathers must be itchy. Her buddy, the Olive Egger "Picholine" is always close behind. I feel like I can hardly keep up with the poop. Poop. Poop. Oh, and more poop. The one thing I noticed and admittedly am getting nervous about is that their little combs are developing - maybe I just wasn't expecting to see them this soon? The RIR "Scarlett" has a quite noticeable one, so does the Barnevelder "Henrietta" and the Barred Rock (and a one or two more). None of them are red, just cream colored but this all got me scared that they are developing so fast that they are boys. Still, I love them all and am having a lot of fun (except for all of the poop.)
