Day 16 and still nothing....

Well it's day 16 and none of my buttons or cornix piped .... Help and why arnt they piping?

Day 16 is only the hatching day for Buttons, and some buttons take to day 18 or more. Coturnix their normal due date to pip/hatch is day 18 you're a little too early to worry yet

Don't worry! My Coturnix baby hatched on day 20. And was very healthy and energetic!

You are just entering the earlyist button hatching timeframe and the coturnix will be a couple of days later.
You'll think nothing is going to happen and then ..... ta da .... a bunch of baby quail will be zipping around.
They are fun speed hatchers !!!

Don't give up. Buttons start hatching on Day 16 but can take much longer. Usually up to day 18. I had a button just last week hatch on day 20 despite the rest hatching on day 17. I was very glad I left them in there!!!!

Ok well I hope they hatch Friday!!! I have to go out of town this week. If the cournix don't hatch on sat morning, will they be ok in the bator untill Monday?

I personally would be somewhat worried about leaving them in the incubator for two days. I believe they have enough nourishment for 3 days in thier bodies however I'm pretty sure they aren't the same for moisture. If you leave them in thier too long they will become dehydrated. I would only reccomend 18-24 hours in the incubator. If they only begin to hatch on Saturday morning they wouldn't be dry enough to be moved to the brooder , although some people start their chicks there imediately. If they hatched on Sunday you'd be ok I'd think. Good luck!!!
