Day 16--Candling & Cracked an Egg!!!

The waxed egg hasn't gone any further, but here are its siblings, just because I promised cute pictures:

Yesterday when I updated, it was Day 21. Two siblings had hatched, and the waxed egg was pipping slightly on the narrow end. This morning, nothing has changed. Fingers crossed for more pips/hatches!

And when they're fluffed up and cute, there will be pictures!

Sad news. Two eggs were looking like they were going to hatch yesterday, and both were pipped. One was the repaired egg. They still hadn't hatched today, and both were shrink wrapped. I don't know why, the humidity was over 70% and the two that hatched two days ago were fine. Anyway, I worked with both shrink wrapped eggs, and the other chick is hatched and drying in the incubator, but the egg that was cracked and waxed didn't make it. It was dead when I tried to soften the membrane.

In addition to the two shrink wrapped eggs, there were two eggs that hatched two days prior, so there are a total of three live chicks.
