Day 16.....Not a lot of hope : (

are thos ethe buttons that came from alaska? shipping could have been fairly ruff on them. I am noticing that the shipping is so hard on eggs.... I got some in from florida and only got 3 of 12 to hatch.

please let us know if more hatch especially me.

They are the ones I got from Ak. I have only had 3 hatch and the third little guy has kinda a bum leg. I am worried that he wont make it. The other two are doing great. I am going to give them another day or so before I give up hope. I will let you know if I get anymore.

What's wrong with its leg? A lot of times, putting them on wire (1/4" hardware cloth), wood shavings, or shelf liner (or combination of these) will straighten out their legs/feet.

I know my coturnix started hatching around day 19 and took three days for the hatch to finish. I know they say they're supposed to pop out of the shell all at once, but mine kind of snuck out one at a time. On my second hatch they came out in two groups, but hold on and give them plenty of time. there's plenty of reasons why a hatch might take longer than normal.

Today would be day 20 and no more have come out. We are going to give them a little longer but I think that I am going to have to call it at some point.

As far as the guy with the bum leg. It kinda sticks out backwards, not like up side down, but like it was bent the wrong way for to long. I told my hubby that he was going to have to make a decision about what to do with him while I was at work tonight. He wants to keep him. He gets around just fine to the food and water, he also follows the others around. Just a little slower than the rest. I am not sure what to do . I looked up some home remidies for chickens with problems like this, but a button is so much smaller and I just couldn't hold on to him like i needed to. I hope he makes it.
