Day 18... chick not filling whole shell. Is it dead??

I will definitely update! The chick that has pipped is a mix between a very pretty EE rooster and a barred rock, and the other one is the same rooster with a silver laced wyandotte. I'm very curious to see how they will look!

So I have a question... This is probably dumb, but I can't tell if there's a hole in the membrane where the pip is, its just little cracks. Can the chick breath through this? Also, is about 65% humidity okay?

Just want to make sure everything is going smoothly. Pip has gotten a little bigger since this morning

Looks perfect!
Chicks has likely internally pipped into the air cell and can breathe fine.
I assume those lines are where you marked the air cell edge when candling,

Give it time now.

She's out!! I've named her Soup, and her sibling Salad, if she hatches. Ill send more pics when she's dry!!

now that she's starting to dry, most of her feathers are silver. So interesting! I was expecting all black, but I guess it makes sense because her dad is mostly white.

It's now day 23 and the second egg hasn't shown any movement, but I've been reluctant to take it out and candle it because it's lockdown. What are the chances it will hatch considering what it looked like the last time I candled?
