If they're fogged, it could be that the membranes are just starting to toughen up or are just tougher for some reason. Hard to say. I dont know about moving them. Sometimes, it's just hard to know what the heck to do. Are you measuring humidity with something?

hygrometer says 80% humidity...so far I have 5 babies...beautiful lil ameraucanas..there are 2 blue orps which are pipped and 2 more of the ameraucanas pipped
also...this is turning out to be a good hatch afterall!


The ameraucanas range from black to blueish and one is actually a fawn/yellow colour with blue/black highlites.

Uh, what? Fawn? Ohmygoodness, what the heck is coming out of these Ameraucana eggs this time around? There should only be black, blue and silvery blue, but sometimes the underside and beard areas are yellow-colored. Is that what you're seeing? I hatched one of Silver's babies today that was that color-very silvery with yellowy underside.
I'm thrilled that the hatch is finally happening! That cooldown only slowed down the works then. Whew! Thought I'd have to scramble to get you more eggs, pal!

i just looked at him/her again as she/he is drying off...yep it is silver with a yellow streak along its belly and under its chin and has little black/blue markings on its wings and face to a lesser extent...the main colour is silver...awesome looking! roo or hen i cant lose!

So, did you get any Orpingtons?

ok so far 6 ameraucanas and 2 blue orps have hatched and have been moved into the other incubator because they are kicking the other eggs around...1 more ameraucana has pipped and is about 1/2 way unzipped so far. 4/6 blue orps had developed to the end so we will see if the other 2 good blue orps hatch.
