Day 18 - Temperature Drop

No nails, caffine by the gallon!

I have frizzle, naked necks, OEGB eggs. I will leave them in until probably the 26th just to be sure.......I have even held some of the eggs up to my ear, nuthin'! I heard a bird chirping outside and thought it was from the bator...

My bator is in the basement, so if I hear a tweeting bird it will be from the bator. I'm even removing the Audobon clock that chirps every hour to make sure of that!

What kind of frizzle? I think they're cool-looking...

Two dozen were frizzle cochin and a few naked necks - plus some frizzle OEGB crosses.

OBTW, I have one of those clocks - I had to turn the sound off - my parrots were mocking the different bird sounds - wild!

One hatched last nite!!!!!!

I checked them before bed - no pips! This morning at 7 am there it was!!!!! It was collected Feb 24th and they were all set March 4th......10 day old egg - must of been in the box that got lost in the mail.

Maybe there will be more -

Well, no more chicks - I am going to give them a couple of more days - just in case. I have plenty of other chicks: 16 total from Tractor Supply - 20 under 2 broodies - Two more hen's setting - about 20 eggs total - one getting ready to set and several laying...16 from another incubator - total 52 chicks now - and some piping of my own - staggered hatch in the bator with the ordered eggs. Did I mention I have too many chickens? Nawwwww!

I really wanted more to hatch from the ordered eggs but that is the way it goes sometimes.
Especially when one dozen was lost in shipment.
