Well Today is day 18 . I have a couple of questions.

I didn't actually put the eggs in untile 6:00pm on the first day so do I need to wait untile 6pm to take them out of the turner?

When I candle the eggs today what should I see on day 18.? I candled a couple but I really couldn't see anything. It was to dark in the egg for me to be able to tell what I was looking at.

I am sure there is a post some where on here about that but I can't seem to find it.

Officially, 6pm would be the day change, but with hatching variations due to incubator specifics, humidity and temp differences, You could take them out of the turner now, and it wouldn't make much of a difference.

It's good if they look dark when you candled. That means they've grown big and are filling up the egg. In a few days, if you are waiting anxiously and nothing is happening, you can candle the air cell area specifically, to see if there is a little beak poking up into it yet.

have fun with your IBW!

Thankyou! I am not a very patient person. The wait is killing me!!

You will do just fine...sit on those hands like MissPrissy always says!!...or my famous words you have to be patient!!...it just takes awhile.....

Dark is good means they are in there....I never use to see movement when I first started hatchings chicks...takes practice and a good candling to see those little fellers moving in there at times....

Have a great hatch!!

I am trying my best Tuffoldhen!! Out of 23 eggs only 2 were clear. all the other's were dark like I said. So I am hoping that I will have 21 new babies before long!!

Ok, so I took the turner out and added water to bring the humidity up, now what?

Sit and wait! How long does it usually take for the temp to come back up? Humidity is already up to 45 and rising.

...everything sounds good...have a good time watching!!!...and a good hatch...things won't happen right off the bat if this is day 18...nothing is set in stone that everything happens on day 21 either.....everyones house and set up are different...

Yup, step away from the bator and have lots of patience. They always seem to take their good ole time when they know you're waiting.

Good luck!
