Day 19 and I am waiting with baited breath!

Today is day 19...this has been a bumpy ride with my poor eggs!
I got 18 cochin frizzle eggs off ebay...guy had a great rap of positives attached to him and lots saying 'great hatch' etc. So, I'm pretty sure the eggs are good.

First I dealt with temps going up and down...never about 103 and down to 97 at lowest.

Then we had the nor easter come through and knock off the power....how long?? I don't know. But when I woke, the power was back on, it had gone out in the night and the temps were down to 97

in the incubator...by then I'd found a great thermometer that also reads humidity.

Humidity was kept between 57 and 60% the whole time.

Now, last night I shut off the auto turner and put all the eggs as quick as I could onto the wire rack. The temp fell to 95 and over night only rose to 97.8!!!! :| What the heck?? I just upped the temp and waiting to see how far up it will go.

Do you thnk they will hatch?????

ive had my incubator go up to 110 and 3 out of 20 survived, it think you have a good chance. keep us updated. ~ mama bird ~

Lisa...I know the feeling...I too am on day 19...due on Thursday. Ohhh, the anxiety of it all!! I have...26 in mine..

From my own flock of RIR/mix...EE ( that insist on laying pink eggs, not blue or green) and one white little....something or other. Nothing yes...just nerves. My first hatch didnt make..so this is my second try

I just want to whitness the miracle! GOOD LUCK on your hatch...everything should be fine...but with the low temps....they might go another day or two. Have faith!

This is our second too. We divided the last batch up 10 stayed here and 5 went to my classroom of preschoolers. Nothing hatched from the school batch and only one porcelain d'uccle came from the 10 at home.

This is a batch of 18 batam frizzle cochins...I want a white one in the worst way! they are a mix of colors I was told.

I keep peeking in the window while holding my breath hoping to hear a peed or see a pip!

LisaB.....I too will sit...and just listen. Nothing yet! My bator is right next to my chair...I just want this to work sooo badly. I want to hear them like everyone says they have. Im just not sure I will be able to. SIGH! come on babies!!

Today is Day 20....no noise, no moving eggies........ Went to bed with temps right at 100 and humidity 70%, woke to temps 97.8 and humidity at 68%...what the heck? Did the eggs die you think??? Shouldn't they be putting out more body heat or something???? The not knowing is killing me!
