Ok so I am on day 19 and one chick has hatched. I am concerned why it was so soon? There are three others with their beak poking out. This is my first time hatching eggs. I put 42 eggs in it and how long can the one be in waiting for the others to hatch?

As long as it's healthy, don't be concerned about it being a couple days early. 21 days is an average, not an absolute. :) Also from what I understand, smaller breeds especially Bantams tend to be a day or two early. Because they absorb the yolk into their stomach prior to hatching they can spend 2-3 days in an incubator if necessary. (I do not let them stay in that long personally.) I let them dry off and warm up before moving them to the brooder. Congratulations on the start of your hatch.

Thank you for the advice. I will just give it time. This are from my rhode island reds from crackle hatchery. I am so excited! :D i got a janoel48 and kept the temp around 37.5 c the entire hatch. Read so many posts about not opening it for fear of loosing the others i wasnt sure what to do. I might try to grab this little one out later but was hopeing id have one other hatch so it wouldnt be alone.

It's definitely better if they have a buddy to go to the brooder with, hopefully the rest aren't far behind.

I have found a new obsession! I put a warm air humidifier in the room , then waited two hours and grabbed 9 of the chicks out. There was two out that was getting tampled by the others. Still a bunch more in their shell with holes. One I can see but it must be taking a break from pecking it way out. Here are the 9 i got out. :love.
