7 wiggling eggs in the Brinsea and huge snow/ice storm in northern lower Michigan. Worst is yet to come tonight with the possibility of losing power real. I have gas fireplace going for continuous heat but would like suggestions.

I just picked up an DC to AC power inverter so I can plug in my incubator in my car. You have to know how many watts your bator is. Mine is 40 watts. Harbor freight has several under $40

Stay safe. Your safety is far more valuable than the egglets in your bator. You could heat jars of water up by your gas fireplace, (be sure to not overheat it). Or simply wrap bator in blankets and find a sweet spot (temp wise) near the gas fireplace to set the bator. Chicks are amazingly resilient, even before hatch.

Agreed if your roads are already bad don't take chances. I think very warm water bottles in there would do the trick, plus holding the heat in. Get some blankets, winter coats etc. right there ready to cover it up.

Thank you for the support...roads are horrid...icy under 10" of wet heavy snow and limited visibility. Husband out of town but I found a 400 watt inverter that hooks up to a battery. I will google how to use and what will be will be...I have a gas range so I can heat water for bottles and keep warm. The gas fireplace is going and it's warmth will work for any hatchlings that happen. I'll update when I can.
