Okay this is day 22 and I have one baby in the brooder, one or two more trying to break out from their shell in the incubator out of 12 eggs from my hens. I am tired,I am sad, and wondering why did I do this???

I'm waiting on 8 Salmon Faverolles. Three pipped last night and very early (yes, I was hovering and watching at 2:30 AM) this morning, one more that hasn't pipped is peeping, nothing from the rest. All looked good on day 18. Tonight will be day 21. This is only my second hatch. Does the waiting ever get any easier? If it wasn't for constant reassurances from threads like this one I'd never survive it.

This is one of the eggs I experimented with by putting in the little R-Com bator instead of the Sportsman. So, has anyone used the tiny R-Com unit before? I still have two eggs in there, and know I can't open it yet, but it sure doesn't look very comfortable for the little hatchling. Do they manage without decent footing in that little dome?
