Day 20 and still no peeps

A pip is when the chick first breaks through the shell and cracks it. It looks like a reverse-dimple on th egg.

Once they pip, they usually will rest for a while, so don't fret it if you don't see anything happening for a while. Then they'll start peeping and rocking and they will extend the crackling around the airsac (called zipping, because it looks like they're unzipping the egg). Then they pop the hatch and roll out!

But don't worry if it takes a while... it is normal for them to take days after pipping.

Pip... see the brown egg, top, just to the left of the green? The top left edge has a little bit of shell pooched out... that's a pip...
