Today is day 20. I woke up to an egg piping and lots of chirping here and there. When I got up the humidity was at 66. It has since dropped to 62 and I'm getting worried. I don't want to open it to add water but I'm worried it will continue to decline. Can someone please tell me what do I do?

Okay, them humidity has gone back up to 65. What is a good area? I think the eggs piping must be absorbing the humidity because it has never fluctuated like this before.

The best thing I found for humidity at lockdown is a clean kitchen sponge. Just wet it and slide it in the bator. It holds pretty well. It makes it easier too when you need to up it, to just pull out the sponge wet it and slide it back in. I run my humidity around 75% for hatch. I go high because I often open my bator during hatch to remove chicks and shells and if I need to I will assist. So it's important that I have my humidity up there. If you are a hands off hatcher and not opening the bator during hatch you can get away with 65%. A lot of it depends on your methods of hatching and your habits.
