Last night my bator was fine at 10:30 when I went to bed but this morning at 8:30 it was room temp and it appears the breaker for my room is broken. I moved the bator to a friend's room immediately and it is getting back up to temp but I don't know how long they were out. It was on lockdown, today is day 20. What are my chances?

This is my first-ever hatch and it's in my university dorm room, we just got evicted due to coronavirus but I extended my stay so this hatch is actually costing me quite a lot 😕 The stakes are pretty high here I really don't wanna lose them...

Embryos get way more resistant to things such as that when they are as old as yours. I would be more worried about bumidity than temp at this stage. I think they will be ok, there are lots of threads on here about hens abandoning eggs on hatch day, etc. and they usually are fine.

Since posting I've read a lot of threads that are giving me some hope :fl Now I'm concerned about delayed hatching though... at a certain point I have to come to terms with being sent home and if I end up the only one left in residence then it'll be hard to keep my babies hidden from the res authorities

Can you just take them home with you? How far away do you live? They really probably won't be delayed. Maybe by a couple hours, not by much

It's over an hour's drive away (and Canadian weather so heat will definitely be lost). I've read that transporting them this late in the game is risky and I can't get a vehicle until tomorrow (Day 21) at the very earliest. If it comes down to that I will but I was hoping to avoid transport. If I had known how everything would blow up over the virus I would have brought them home weeks ago, but now my mom is showing symptoms and my semester is on hold :th

Oh, yeah. Well, I hope they hatch fast so you can take them home. Aw, I hope your mom is ok. Stay safe
