UPDATE: Just heard one chirp in the egg so we definitely still have life!!
Scratch that, more chirps! Sorry to post a million times I'm just so excited!! Currently it is 2 am and I am camped out on the floor under my desk. At least my neighbour finally stopped yelling at his video games, gotta love the uni life...Nothing since that one chirp. I keep thinking I hear movement but then it's just my neighbour on the other side of our wall... they're so quiet it's making me anxious again![]()
UPDATE: I have an external pip as of about two hours ago but it has stopped chirping and responding to me talking to it. Could it be shrinkwrapped? Or is it just resting?
Can't get a pic but the membrane is white. Still unresponsive, but if they typically rest before hatching I guess that's normal? Don't have exact humidity reading, that's something I need to invest in in the future, my incubator has certain grooves in the pan and the manual tells me when to fill which ones. Next time I'd like some more concrete information to go by.Yes, they usually rest for up to 12 hours after the external pip. What is the humidity in there at the moment? Can you get a good pic of the pip hole without opening the incubator? If it is brown or dark yellow around the hole it is too dry in there. You could try flickering a flash light at it. Sometimes that will make them move around more.
