So, I still only have 1 chick and 2 pips. They havn't even started zipping yet. It's been more than 24 hours, will they die if they sit in an open egg too long? Should I up the humidity more? Its at 66% and temps been running pretty good.
I hate to raise only one chick

but I def don't want to open the incubator if they can do it on their own.

Hows the progress? Be patient. On my hatch I had one that pipped and then sat there for about 30 hours before zipping and hatching in under an hour.

So, I went ahead and intervened... one of the pipped chicks had died from the goo and its beak had been sealed shut and it probably suffocated. I checked the 2 eggs that hadn't pipped and they were not developed. The other one that pipped we helped out, its really small from the egg being smaller than the others but it's alive, not sure it'll survive but I did what I could I think the humidity was to low (my therm must not read well who knows) the shells were kinda hard though. So right now I have 2 chicks, may end up with one but the one is really healthy and pretty sure its a lil girl (learning the feather sexing that hatcheries use). As soon as it's in the brooder tomorrow I'll get photos, then starting a new batch of RIR's for my neighbor (since they're not mine I may not stress as much
