how long should we wait

Have you candled your eggs???? I would do that before cracking them open, because that will kill them. I just candled my eggs and unfortunaltly, all the embryos died and much of the fluid evaporated from inside the egg, it must have been this heat. Thank you all for caring so much

i candled them on monday and they were moving around i even think i saw the eye!!

then yesterday i candled and one has a really big air pocket & the other is mostly black inside ..... don't know what to think?

HELP

Well, Im glad some are more fortunate then me!
Well, so far I've heard black is good because that means the chick is filling up all the space in the egg! When you say "big" how big do you mean compared to the general size of the egg? As in, the air sack is about ______ size of the egg.

close to half starting at the small end of the egg ...... i think it means the chicken is all squished maybe?????

we are having trouble getting it humid for them too

I would throw that egg out, the embryo is more then likely dead already. The air sack is on the wrong side of the egg, it's suppose to be on the wide end, and not nearly as large as you just mentioned. Low humidity is probably the cause of this as it appears that the egg's contents have partially evaporated. Sorry
