Was this your first hatch? For the next one you might want to do what I do. On day 18 quickly transfer the eggs to a cardboard egg carton and remove the turner. While waiting for the others to hatch the hatched chicks can sometimes get trapped under the turner. It makes clean up easier as well.

Yes I am doing a staggered hatch. This is my first hatch. I put three of my friends eggs in four days before I put in a dozen I got from SoCalChic. They will be placed in an egg carton for lockdown tomorrow when I remove the turner. I am aware of the dangers of the turner already so I am on watch and will remove chicks if needed! I hope for a good hatch rate and will be looking to get different breeds soon! I hope he is a rooster! I want a RIR Roo and these two were fathered by a beautiful RIR ROO!
