Hey Carrie, Just checking in to see how the rest of your hatch is doing. I know your busy, but wanted to check in.

Can't wait to see pics. Have a great day!

Oh, I know what you mean about the afghans...getting larger. I misjudged one of my granddaughter's afghans and it ended up large enough to cover her bed! I was so burnt out by the time I finished it. I was grateful to start another one...but smaller. I still make them large but not bed size. LOL Well, I have six chicks this morning out of nine eggs. One egg has a decent sized pip in it, actually more than a pip and now there is no movement at all. I think it died as did the two remaining un-hatched eggs. I put four robust chicks into the RubberMaid tub under a light and left the two weaker, last hatched ones in the bator till I think they look strong enough to go into the brooder with the others. Here are a couple pics I just took. Kind of dark but I will take more later.

Just discovered another one hatched!! Never saw a pip so it must have been on the bottom of the egg. Now 7 out of 9 eggs have hatched. woo hoo
I just reached in to remove the egg with the large pip in it...it had no movement and membrane looked dry...it cheeped~~ I immediately put it back in the bator!! We may have 8 out of 9 hatching. How long do I wait on the one egg that has shown no sign of pipping? It does have a chick in it as it was there when I candled.

While searching on here on what to do with the egg that had a large pip and nothing happening...I found the sticky with the intervention. Yes, the membraine was very white. I was able to chip off the shell part with no damage to the membraine and now have it wrapped in a warm wet washcloth with the pip exposed upwards. Keeping my fingers crossed on this one. Good info for those who take the time to read it. I felt very stupid for not reading that first.

Ok, after helping the chick and wrapping it in warm wet cloth I am just waiting. It is resting right now. Thanks Wynette.

I hope not at the expense of my hatchlings. This one that had the completely white membrane (sp) does not look real good. Looks like his insides are out like another post I read on here. Will have to wait and see what happens. I see the last egg has a tiny tri-corner crack. I need to find out if I should just wait on it or what????

Ok, the chick with it's insides hanging out...update. I pushed them back in and low and behold they stayed in. The chick was mostly on it's back and very weak. After a couple hours in the bator by itself...it is up and doing extremely well!! Insides stayed in!!

I am keeping it in the bator for another couple hours before placing it in the brooder with the seven others. I still have one other egg that has not hatched yet. I candled it and there is something in it but I don't hear any cheeping. I will keep it in there until tomorrow unless someone has some advice for me?? Here are a couple of pics. I took a lot but the buggers are running up to the camera and blocking the view. Whenever I put my hand in the brooder they run to me
