hello!
Today is day 21 of my second broody hen (my first didn't go too well) and it's pretty late in the day 21. I took a sneak peek under our hen and couldn't hear any peeping and can see any pips. I'm very anxious and really want to see my checks because this time we crossed a white silky rooster and a Mille fleur d'uccle hen. I'm excited to see the result and kiss some more chicks ;):barnie:love

I havent used a broody for hatching before, but at this point the most id do for assisting is maybe a safety hole in each of them, but i'd be worried about disturbing the hen too much. If its colder weather where you are it could postpone the due date.

Do you know if your boy is recessive or dominant white?

If there are no pips or zips there is nothing to assist. I have had a hard time seeing pips sometimes... and even not been able to hear peeps because the embryo was resting while I was listening... but still got hatching soon after.

I would leave her alone... and candle eggs during the night that are still under her... looking for movement. Were they already candled for development? Pullets have a bit harder of time than hens.... as I suspect a first timer often is. How many eggs, what kind of hen?

Good luck and happy hatching! :fl:jumpy:jumpy

Thanks for replying! The white silkie is recessive. Also we have candled the eggs but only 4/12 and the 4 were all alive and well. Our gen sitting on eggs is a Mille fleur d'uccle bantam.
