Day 21 and nothing :(

Day 23 and still nothing

Oh, I wanted them to hatch so badly. I think I will wait until tomorrow and then candle to make sure they are all gone. I really don't think they are gonna hatch if they haven't yet.

Now, I really want to crack the egg to see the chick, but I'm scared. *lol* Maybe I should just throw it out, without looking at it.
How do you guys dispose of your eggs at this point, anyways? Just throw it in the trash? Our dump says "no dead animals"...

Edited to add: I had a dream that the chicks hatched again last night.

So sorry...I guess you have to decide about opening them. I did because I wanted to know what the possible problem was. I discovered that the three that didn't hatch DID have fully formed chicks, but there was a LOT of fluid in there as well. What I believe was the problem was this: they were very large eggs that did not lose as much fluid as they should have. Their aircell was not as large as the others and the shells were very thick. Next time I will keep my humidity 40-45 instead of 50-55 and if I have thick shells I will lightly sand them around day 14 if the aircells aren't getting larger.

Thanks so much. Yeah, that's kinda why I want to crack them, to see why they never hatched... I know all three had movement up to day 18 when I last candled. I know one embryo was a lot larger than the other two. I think that's due to temp swings and the other two didn't grow as fast as they should have. But I really figured the large one would have made it. *sigh*
