Day 21--nothing--UPDATE

Thank you everyone

I still haven't heard any cheeping, part of the reason for my neurotic behavior. I'm sure DH was rolling his eyes when I called from work, "How's the egg? Has it hatched? Is it moving or cheeping? Oh, btw, it's your sister's birthday."

Good news and bad news.

Good news, we heard ccheeping!

Bad news, DH opened the 'bator to hear the cheeping

Did we just kill it?

Should I help it?

No more pipping. How long can it live like this? Should I help it?

It's been 24 hours since it pipped.

I helped it out of the shell, it squirmed quite energetically as I was freeing it. Once free, it just kind of flopped over.

The chick looks weak, the legs look weak and pale and it's just laying there with its eyes closed. I have it on paper towls in the incubator so it can dry off. Will it get better? Or will it die?

What should I do?

HELP!!!

It's dead.

There's some kind of ropy white stuff coming out of the vent. Is that just poop or intestines?
