I am day 22 and 2 of 5 eggs have hatched. One egg I candled and it was obvious development had stopped by day 14 maybe. Another egg pipped and there was movement but at some point last night the chick died. The last egg was moving last night but hasn’t moved today. I candled it and it is dark and has an air pocket. I see no movement. Temperature is regulated and humidity has been kept high. We removed the two chicks that hatched because of the havoc they were causing. I actually worry that they may have caused the one that pipped to die. Should we wait a couple more days

this is the chick that stopped developing 485E11CA-331B-45AC-B44F-6F1B19EA56D4.jpeg

Temps have been kept between 99.5 and 100.5. Humidity was between 30-40% until day 18. Since then it has been around 80%. It is a still air incubator (homemade). Even when the bator was opened briefly to remove chicks it never went below 65%. These are mutt chickens. Cross between a Rhode Island Red rooster and sex link hens (golden and black. Not sure who laid this egg)

I've been told to keep humidity a tad lower during lockdown, around the 55% range, but I've hardly heard of a 100% hatch rate either way.
Anyways, I would give the last one some time. Just in case. I had a late bloomer with my batch a week ago or so. I didn't see any movement and ~ 24hrs later I had an external pip.

I’ve read so many different things about humidity at the end. Since ours is still air I tried to find numbers for that. I will give the baby a little more time but it is so frustrating! Lol It was rocking and rolling and has stopped.

Here are some pics the egg is speckled. The R is because a red hen laid it. Lol 1487BCE8-1627-438C-A676-702FA5582C81.jpeg 27F43A73-D826-4E66-9160-CE2864A5E189.jpeg 0A0704AE-BE7C-426A-896E-098C93959831.jpeg
