Oh my Gosh!! What is going on here!?!? I am so sorry, okay so walk me through the entire incubation period, from egg collecting to storing to temperature to humidity all the way to lock down and hatch point, if you can. I will try my best to figure out what is wrong.
I'm getting them from my hen and rooster. She doesn't seem to have any part in setting them herself, she has had up to 15 eggs in a nest at one time.. I put them into the incubator 97* and 65-70% humidity.. On day 18 I stop turning them and I check for movement before then, all moving,, on day 21 I get tapping no chirping, this one ingot chirping with a small hole, I try and I courage, everything seemed ok, I tapped on egg every hour or so with more chirping, chirping kept getting weaker, I came into the house at 2pm till 2:45 went out and nothing, no chirping no movement nothing and still nothing
This is what happened with the one I saved. This time I didn't help and it has died.. I really don't know what is happening
Oh yay! That is good news! I bet it was a nice surprise! And I bet the other little one will be happy now!
Okay so as far as next time goes i think I found the problem . The temperature needs to be at 99-101 degrees during incubation. It's a bit to cool for them hence the late hatches and deaths. So next time that should help considerably!! So glad you got one!
Thank you I will change that for sure!!! It's sad that the chicks have to learn from my mistakes
I have one more in this cluster of eggs. Then wait for a week, so I will adjust the heat and hopefully get a better result!!
A wet rag? I'm not sure what you mean? I've been putting a small amount in a cap and putting the beak in it, is that ok? It all about learning
Thanks to everyone that is helping me
