Hi all,
This is my second ever incubator hatch, first time was just a couple weeks ago with serama babies.
I had 13 eggs develop to today, 11 have hatched out and are in the brooder. The last one into the brooder I had to assist, so the temp and humidity were a bit swingy for about two hours. Most hatched out late on day 19, earlier than I expected. The last one to hatch made no sounds or movement, then suddenly pipped, zipped, and hatched in ten minutes, late on day 21. She came out while I was assist-hatching the other, which blew my mind. So now I'm afraid of quitting on these other two too early. They haven't peeped or moved at all through the entire lockdown, but they were very alive when I candled at lockdown, day 17. An hour ago I candled and there was no internal movement, I tapped the shells and no sounds. I float tested, quickly tho, didnt wait around for movement as I didnt want to stress a possibly hatchable chick, and both floated horizontally with maybe 20% above the surface. Everything I've been reading says they are viable eggs per float test..... I guess I'm asking for some hope, has anyone had eggs past day 21 with no movement at candle, that still hatched? And when should I pull them, day 26? I dont want to ruin my bator with rotten eggs, but I dont want to quit either...
