Day 22, one pip at 8am, but no progress since then.

I'm getting really worried about the probability of these eggs hatching! The one that pipped this morning...I can hear it chirping form time to time, but it has not made any more progress. Just the one little hole. Should I try to help it?!

Not yet. they say it can take 24 hours, but some one on the other thread just had one hatch after it's first pip was like 26 hours ago???

OK, thanks, raimnel. It just seems like after this long, there should be some progress, KWIM? But hey...Maybe it comes in a burst of energy? It just seems like it should have made at least one more hole by now...

I continue to hear chirping, but it occurred to me that I can't really tell which egg it's coming from!

I had one that took over 24 hours. It pipped the wrong end and I thought for sure I would never see it. Had to sit on my hands for a long time. Patience is not one of my better virtues.

they will rest for up to 24 hours before finishing hatching... it is a stressful time for the wee things...

ducklings take even longer... up to 36 hours...

I have a chick! One of the eggs just pipped and zipped in a flash this morning. The one I was worried about is zipping right now!
