Day 22 starts this am at 10 only 2 eggs hatched so far

So good bad or ugly I just candled all the eggs 1 at a time less than a min prob 30 secs each sprayed warm moist water and humidity never dropped in hatcher. I saw a few that may have internally pipped so I poked a hole hopefully I did not kill em, some I had labeled possibly dead prior to hatch I can confirm are bad and a few still have not pipped but the air sac is larger i left alone.

Hopefully we have more hatching.

Well unfortunately the baby chick sounds did not yield any more. The saftey holes worked in terms of what they were to do but they never hatched and stopped moving so I assisted opening and was a few hours too late helping they died. So if I had assisted 1st thing yesterday morning they may have been good. One had the leg over head 2 just quit , another was positioned wrong one never absorbed the yoke and one had the membrane and veins still intact and was moving i oiled it down last night and went to bed, it too quit at some point never pipped through.

So we have the 2 in this batch out in the brooder and a second batch is due in 4 days, in the second nr360. This batch of eggs seems more hearty as development goes they have been much easier to see candle etc and development has seemed better so hopefully we will get a better hatch in a few days.
Not sure why so many quitters in this bunch.

Thanks for all the help. Well see how round 2 goes.

So second hatch occurred had 4 of 14 at lockdown hatch 5 never finished developing became floaters, 1 never absorbed the yolk, 3 were fully formed but never finished and of those 1 pipped internally never made it i opened up all the eggs immediately 1 day after hatch and the 3 developed were already doa , no shrink wrapping etc.

But I have 6 chicks out of 2 batches of 44 eggs.

Thanks for all the help.

The chicks that hatch are super adorable! Please update as the grow! I think that's my most favorite thing of chicken keeping. Watching them grow!

Will do I have some in the garage I just had another hatch of 18 but one has external umbilical and guts so have to try to push them in otherwise 16 healthy and 1 with egg stick on it I am oiling with olive oil to loosen and the new one with external guts. I am following the advice of a link on here.
