day 22

Its day 22 and still no chick. When I candle it, it looks fertile but shouldnt it have hatched by now? Is there a different way i can tell if there is a live chick in it?

When you hold it to your ear, do you hear any peeping?

Are you sure you're on day 22? Not trying to be mean, but sometimes we can miscount on the calendar...

yup im sure. That wouldnt have been the first time ive miss counted though..lol

Give it a few more days. My first hatch ran late due to low temps in the bator. 4 out of 5 hatched on day 24.

my first hatch ran late and my chicks didn't start hatching till day 24 silly digital themp gauge was reading 100 even said i hit 102 once but on day 18 i added a mercury one it read only 96 to 97! so my chicks were late! i bumped the heat but they were still late
