On wed of last week we stopped turning and placed our one developing egg in the incubator and cranked up the humdity. It is now day 23 and no movement or pipping or chirping. I did finally break down and candle last evening (really quickly) and it did appear to have grown as now I can see nothing in the egg but a tiny sliver of light whereas before more space could be seen. Should I wait or give up at this point?

I would give up because if it does hatch it will be weaker than most, and you don't want to put weak birds in your flock. It can lead to bad genetics.

any other suggestions, should I candle, open the shell, do the water test???????????????

I took the egg out and started to candle it and it was pipped or starting to zip (small crack) and it was chirping. I am so psyched!!!! She was moving alot. It won't officially be 23 days until tonight. I just wait now right??????? I spritzed the egg after taking her out briefly. and the humidity is good inside the incubator. I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Check out my picture posted last night on a thread about my first hatch

I had something like this happen to me once, I was all set to throw out the eggs, and said well I will give them one more day. Next morning I had pips and five healthy chicks. I don't know if I didn't count the days correctly or what happened.
