I’m an elementary school science teacher in NYC. Normally we hatch eggs and our security guard takes them to his farm and in the spring brings us new eggs to hatch. It’s such an amazing collaboration and we talk about our grand-babies. This year a fox got all but one hen and 1 rooster so I had to order eggs.
This hatch had been a catastrophe. He had 4 eggs for us but I had to order 8 more which took over a week to arrive. This year the humidity has been so wonky. 1 drop of water and it shoots up, so it would be 60 then drop to 30 for a while.
By lockdown, day 18. There were 8 eggs that didn’t make it. 2 were moving and 2 looked good.
The humidity said 70/71 but has so much condensation on the inside. I emptied one whole side of water but it didn’t do much.

We are now on day 24 and nothing has happened. I candled yesterday and saw movement in 2 or 3 of them! I have been preparing my students during the last few days for a 0 hatch. Now I don’t know what to do.
I’d love some advice and thoughts on these eggs and next steps.

I have a Kebonixx 12 egg incubator that has given us 6 and 11 successful hatches in the past. Many of the eggs seem to have a weird saddle shaped air cell.

Ugh, it’s been a stressful month.
