To post pics click on the square pic icon next to the"@" sign its above were you write your comments, sounds to me like you did exactly what was needed, by the way the nerve wracking thing never goes away no matter how often you this ha
Oh yay, LOL. Well I haven't seen her do anything but move her beak a bit and she peeped like she was mad that she was still in there. I finally just walked away so I wouldn't be tempted to do anything yet. The other egg is jumping a little here and there. So now I just wait a bit longer. Now I'm really glad I joined! Here I have others who know exactly what I'm going through!
I found the icon, just need to get some decent pics, mostly because of the condensation that's built up in one corner of the glass and kind of impedes a good pic.
Glad to help good to leave her for another hour or two anyway opening the bator to much runs the risk of losing humidity and the other eggs getting shrink wrapped if they have externally pipped, her wet paper will probably dry out after a while if that happens and no one else has externally pipped yet just take her out check her and dampen it again,
P.S. You will unfortunately get addicted to this site lol
Just glad I put the glass on top so I can see inside! I think to be addicted here is much better than being addicted to a FB game, LOL. I started to do that and had to force myself to stop so I could live. The second egg has externally pipped so that makes me really not want to open the incubator back up. Humidity is still at 70% so I think I'm ok with that.
Sounds good just sit on your hands, lol my first hatch i was soooooo worried about the first egg because it was taking way to long and still hadn't started to zip after 24 hours of being pipped i had to go to a friends that night and when i ran back early in the morning a little chick was looking back at me! Think he was just waiting for me to stop staring at him
Just letting you know im getting off this now because i live in ireland and its super late here, good luck if you have any issues just post on a thread people here are great at helping out its why i love this site
I freaked out, over reacted and the chick didnt make it. One egg left, hes been slowly working it for almost 24 hours and I am not touching it. I go check every few hours and am always seeing some progress so im ok with that. I think guilt can help keep you from overreacting. Its worked for me. Pic is of the last egg as of a few minutes ago.
Aw im so sorry , what happened? Did you try and assist but it wasnt ready and bled out? I know it seems horrific now and you prob feel really bad but try not to feel too guilty. That happened to me with one chick just because i didnt have the experience or knowledge, at least youll learn from it hope the others hatch out ok
That is exactly what happened! I cried it out this morning with the resolve that the next clutch I will k ow more of what I'm looking for. Sigh. Still waiti g on this egg to zip more, she is doing a lot of tapping her beak. Not against the shell but as if she is chewing something. I kn ow they dont chew but that is the best analogy I can one up with at the moment. I have more time to wait and hoping she spends her evening wisely by zipping that egg.
Ya if there is ever any bleeding stopping and waiting a few more hours is best as it can sometimes take 48 hours to get out, dont worry your most definitely not the only one its happened to, let me know how the others go. That noise is the chick scratching at the egg from the inside to break the shell and zip
