Please help!
We have had a lot of trouble with our incubator, but amazingly we can hear our little chicks chirping on day 23
How long should i have to wait for them to start pipping??
Thanks in advance!

It usually takes 21 days for a chick to start to hatch from 6-12 hours to get completely out of the egg

HI
alot of things can effect if a hatch is early or late - temperature is a key one - power outage etc...
my first hatch began a bit late due to a power outage i believe but i ended up with some beautiful chicks now three weeks old.
be patient and try to make sure your humidity is at the proper level for hatching. have you seen any pips yet??

ditto from above. It sounds like your temp was either a degree low over the whole run or went up and down too much. If you hear peeping then it is just a waiting game now. Get your humidity up about as far as you can. When you add water to the bator make certain it is at least 100 degrees (the water temp)

1 out of 2 chicks have hatched really strong and cute, the other looks like its struggling a bit?

The temp has been up and down due to the fact the outside weather in england is that unpredictible we had a heatwave just after freezing cold weather and rain lol been around 37.5c for a while now, humidity has shot up since the first chick has hatched, its around 85% not long after i posted this both eggs pipped, one is out and thriving and the other not much movement and not sure if its just a day later than the other?
The membrane has broken so i just dont want him to get "shrink wrapped"??

We have a home made bator too which of course will effect the temps as when we add water etc we loose a lot of heat so its up and down too much. Ive just bought a 6 egg incubator though, covatutto 7, so cant wait for it to arrive and stick some more in there. We had it in the bedroom, we arent in there alot but obviously in there more than a room such as a closet.
I do have an unused bedroom which im going to put the next lot in - really excited now, and the new chick is called noodle! LOL

LOVE the name!
glad things seem to be going good.

second one has hatched but looks much weaker than the other, not holding too much hope for him at the moment, pretty upsetting, but fingers crossed!
