Day 23...

Please help! IDK what to do! I have 2 eggs that were due the 17th and they where wiggling last night but there not moving @ all now! Should I wait? My mom thinks they are getting rested up for the hatch but I'm not so sure. Any ideas on what 2 do??? Thanks!

Lindsey,

I think they are resting right now also. All that wiggling was them turning around getting ready to PIP & ZIP.

Your temps may have been a bit lower and they are just taking thier time.

I don't mean to upset you but day 23? I thought chicks took 21 days to hatch.....if the eggs were rocking at day 17.....could your timing have been off a bit? Maybe your eggs were slightly developed when you slipped them into the incubator.....

I've had chicks hatch as late as 26 days. If your temps in your incubator were running low or you lost power for a while, it could delay your chicks hatching. I agree with someone else that the eggs aren't rocking and rolling any more its because they're getting ready to. Give it another day or two.

OMGoodness!!!!!!!!! Whooo Hooo!!! One of them hatched!!!! Just after 9:00pm! But it looks like a boy cause it has HUGE legs Small spurs and it's huge. Let's pray that it's a girl. I came in from trimming bushes and there it was zipped all the way around

Now it's drying. Got to check
on it! Bye!!

opened it up and there is is a fully developed chick but it was dead

i didnt see a head though... i was wondering if it was between the legs of somthing it was weird. now hopefully im gunna hatch duck eggs!
