All of the chicks are dead. One of them wasn't even really developed, so that one was gone a long time ago. The other four still had about half of their yolks left. They were fully formed so I'm a chicken killer

How disappointing (hugs)

I know exactly how you feel. I had two dead chicks just like you described on my last hatch. Such a letdown after waiting this long with anticipation.

The good thing is that they only take 21 days if you want to try again. It's a learning experience for sure.

Thanks. It's been a rough few weeks. We lost our Buttercup a few weeks ago and now the chicks

These eggs were given to us by our 4H poultry superintendant.

cheraboo , you are not a chicken killer , you are just learning and that happens at times , try not to beat yourself up.

I am sry to hear that they didnt make it .

We have had our cat change the temp on our lil giant before , all it took was a lil bump

The controls on those are a lil touchy , we glued a big button to our control so that it was easier to adjust.

On the still air bators try to keep your temp between 101 - 102 , have to run them just a lil higher than the still air.

Hope you do give it another try !

Yeah, we'll give it another try. Now I've just got to find some Hamburg eggs ....

Thanks for the heads up about the cats. We'll get something to protect the temp knob in case it was the cats.
