Day 24 no signs of anything! What should I do?

Hi :welcome

Thanks I'll check it out! The chirping was on about day 22 and their hasn't been any movement since some people are saying I should candle them but I a little hesitant to do so.

Glad you could join the flock! If you think you can hear cheeping then leave them in the incubator. They may need more time. While they are cheeping they have oxygen. Check out this link it's a super read and has lots of info https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/step-by-step-guide-to-assisted-hatching

Good luck with your eggs :fl

**IF** YOU DO NOT HAVE AN INTERNAL PIP AND YOU CAN’T HEAR CHIRPING and but you do SEE MOVEMENT, place that egg BACK in the incubator and WAIT, this EGG DOES NOT need assisting at this point!

**IF** however YOU DO NOT HAVE AN INTERNAL PIP AND YOU CAN’T HEAR CHIRPING and YOU DO NOT see MOVEMENT please proceed to The Float Test ~ Checking Egg Viability. Give Eggs A Full 24 Hrs Overdue Before Float Testing ONLY AFTER CANDLING and NO Internal pips and NO internal MOVEMENT or CHIRPING! This procedure takes very little equipment Or time to do and Is Easy To Perform. If your egg is still viable, place back in the bator and wait! https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...ng-egg-viability-for-late-or-overdue-hatching

Can you see movement in the egg? If you can't hear anything or see movement in the egg go ahead and float test them.

Well...the chick pipped a different hole for were I started chipping so I left it bet night but there was no progress this morning so I made the pip hole bigger and moved the membrane to get it's beak out as left it this morning...there's no progress this afternoon so I've made an exit for it and left it it's all still intact cheeping and can kick free when it's ready I suppose, if it lives of course! I don't know what's gone wrong with it really must be in a bad position

Actually it all looks a bit gloopy! Clear gloop not semi dry like pictures of hatching chicks I've seen....

The clear gloop could be albumen (egg white) usually when a chick hatches with albumen still on it this generally points to an humidity issue during the incubation period. Hope it gets out of that shell:fl ok

Well it's been out of the shell for about 5hrs now it's not yet up and about but alive and rolling about a bit! Is that normal?

Just after hatch and especially with a difficult hatch they can take some time to pull round. They often sleep quite a lot and do tend to blunder around too, even normal hatched chicks blunder around. 5 hours so that's not too long after hatch to be worried yet. Hopefully with rest it should be up and running soon. Is it drying off and fluffing up ok? Sometimes if they have the albumen still on them this can stop them fluffing up.

No it's not fluffing up at all! It's fluff is rock hard I've tried washing it with cotton wool and warm water but I'm afraid to fiddle with it too much don't want to stress it out! Any suggestions?
