Hi,
So I've had a silkie egg under broody mama for almost 24 days now. I did the float test, it looked good but didn't show any movement.
I candled and as you can see in the photos it has a huge aircell and takes up the whole egg basically, but again, didn't see any movement...
Mama is staying on the nest with her other chick that hatched day 20 and even pooped herself twice over the last couple of days waiting :(
Thoughts?

I dont see any veins. Is there any movement. With that much air sack showing, you should be hearing peeps or at least seeing movement

They aren't visible in the photos but there are veins. I candled on day 22 to see if there had been internal pips yet and there appears to have been development in the egg since then. But can't see movement.

On Jan 17, 15 days into incubation it looked like this. On day 22 it grew to fill up the egg. It has looked a bit behind in development throughout the incubation.

It couldnt have died ten days ago...I've watched it develope, since day 18 before lockdown to day 22 when I checked again.
Ah, you're right, sorry, I though the mass was a yolk. Is your broody still willing to sit on the egg? maybe the egg is just cool enough to slow down incubation.
