They don't use up the air sac until they break in to it. Then the lack of oxygen as it starts to get used up triggers them to break the shell. One reason if you start helping you often have to keep helping is you by providing unlimited air the chick may not be as stimulated to work on hatching itself.

day 25, no pips. temp is 99-100, humidity is 60-65

Day 27 and the little guy is has finally cracked the shell and talking a lot, but not out of the shell
