Egg was cold this morning and baby died without making any more progress. I'm sadOh, awesome! That would be so cool.
Aw! I'm so sorry. It might be bad genetics, I think you're right. That's so sad.Egg was cold this morning and baby died without making any more progress. I'm sad. Wondering if it's a genetics thing? Both baby chicks had the same dad and died late in development. Other 2 that hatched perfectly are from another roo. I can't tell why it wouldn't have pipped. Looked developed correctly

Thank you! Yes it's been extremely hot. I'm in San Diego and the change in weather was so drastic and sudden. Anyway, my girl successfully hatched out the 2 and this was my first hatch, so I might not be much help, but feel free to reach out if you'd like. Mine didn't want to leave her babies much either, but I put her food and water in the crate with her, just outside of the nest. Here's mama with both her babies. Looking like 1 blue and 1 black bantam cochin/silkie cross.Sorry to hear. Like u i have a broody hen with eggs. Im very new at this so looking up advice. Live in southern calif so it got hot as soon as i gave her the eggs 8 days ago. Crazy weather right? Its been so hot and she wont leave them to go outside. Good luck on your chicks that did hatch. Super cute .![]()
I've actually been looking at that one today too. Glad to hear a good review on it!I'm sorry about your baby. I have the MagicFly 12 incubator. Its fairly cheap and I've had reallt amazing success with it. Incubators are a wonderful thing to have on hand.
Its a good one. There are a quite a few poor reviews, I think it's because people aren't usiing it right. The manual is translated garbage, but if you play aroumd with it some its easy to figure out. I have it running right now and it's doing perfect.I've actually been looking at that one today too. Glad to hear a good review on it!
