Day 25 chick dead in shell. What happened?

Mama is a tolbunt polish and dad is a turken roo that I'm not keeping. I'm really hoping for a naked neck polish baby Haha

Egg was cold this morning and baby died without making any more progress. I'm sad . Wondering if it's a genetics thing? Both baby chicks had the same dad and died late in development. Other 2 that hatched perfectly are from another roo. I can't tell why it wouldn't have pipped. Looked developed correctly

Aw! I'm so sorry. It might be bad genetics, I think you're right. That's so sad.

Thank you. Such a bummer. This little one did have the naked neck too . Wondering if I should invest in a small incubator and try hatching some since I'm not keeping the roo. But, by then I won't have any other babies to raise it with and I only wanted the one. Idk, I guess I'll decide soon.

Sorry to hear. Like u i have a broody hen with eggs. Im very new at this so looking up advice. Live in southern calif so it got hot as soon as i gave her the eggs 8 days ago. Crazy weather right? Its been so hot and she wont leave them to go outside. Good luck on your chicks that did hatch. Super cute .

Thank you! Yes it's been extremely hot. I'm in San Diego and the change in weather was so drastic and sudden. Anyway, my girl successfully hatched out the 2 and this was my first hatch, so I might not be much help, but feel free to reach out if you'd like. Mine didn't want to leave her babies much either, but I put her food and water in the crate with her, just outside of the nest. Here's mama with both her babies. Looking like 1 blue and 1 black bantam cochin/silkie cross.

I'm sorry about your baby. I have the MagicFly 12 incubator. Its fairly cheap and I've had reallt amazing success with it. Incubators are a wonderful thing to have on hand.

Its a good one. There are a quite a few poor reviews, I think it's because people aren't usiing it right. The manual is translated garbage, but if you play aroumd with it some its easy to figure out. I have it running right now and it's doing perfect.
