Day 26 or 27- ducks - good?

Do these look viable? Dont smell, havent candled to check for movement. Momma wont let me close. Other hatchling hatched yesterday day 25. Either a swedish mix , pekin, or cayuga.

they were set 6/15, to hatch 7/13.

it looks like she pecked the end or broke one of them stepping on it.

Dark one doesn't look good, can you put on some gloves and brave a hormonal broody for a candle?

these dont look good to me. Egg one's air cell is also too small for this age.

Since she has a baby ready to get out and start eating, I doubt she'll stay on the nest much longer.
If you dont see any movement this evening, I would act according to the Assisted hatching article
Just in case the babies are alive. I am doubtful that they are though, sadly. Day 26/27 right? Was this a staggered hatch or did the hatched duckling come really early?

I set all 5 the same day. Now , whether a duck sat on it a day or two, thats a different story. But none of my ducks have acted broody, and the camera doesnt show them setting, only laying then coming out . Which is why i used this girl, she was broody.. and I’ve hatched ducks under chickens before. With good results.

Momma pushed one out the nest and never took it back , even when i tried putting it under her (i had marked with sharpie so i kno it was same one) and i tossed it, ate one im assuming bc i NEVER found it again after about a week of her siting, and i was checking daily.

Then there were these 3. One hatched sunday nite / mon morning, i watched her peck at teh one with the end smushed, i guess she was trying to help it, and then the other… well you see the color of it candled and un candled

well the dark one had NEVER formed. Other one would have hatched if the bitch hadnt broke it. So she only has 1 baby, and abandoned the 2 bad eggs anyway.

she's not a b'tch, for breaking it. But yeah, that really sucks. I'm sorry it didnt work out too well!
At least you still have the one baby!
Are they eating and drinking/ everything going ok?
