day 27 duck eggs

Hi I'm a new duck hatcher so I have a 26 17ish day old duck eggs I looked yesterday and saw veins and it was very dark I couldn't see any movement from the egg or anything. IS that supposed to be like that? I looked for movement but I literally cant see any movement and am very worried as I have already lost 3 duck eggs due to the weather and cracks.PLEASE TELL ME IF THIS IS OKAY
Hi and welcome to BYC

The farther along they get the less room they have to move
seeing movements are much harder
Veins are the true way to know if there is life
When a baby dies the veins go away very quickly

Hello Emily, and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.

Good luck to you and the broody hen on the hatch. At this point, I would leave her and the eggs alone and let her do her thing.
Okay should I check it everyday to see if the egg hatches and if it does should I take the baby duck out of the chicken pen since it is not a chicken baby?

Leave the ducklings with her and let them all hatch. She will start to raise them and they will imprint on her. It's a tricky situation when a chicken hen hatches and raises ducklings but it can work. I would ask this type of question in the duck forum.

Well I have them in a pen with 7 chickens and two chickens take turns laying on them should I leave them with ALL 7 chickens?

Having 2 hens take turns setting the eggs is unusual and could ultimately end badly.
Are they setting together or literally one is off and the other is on and the eggs are always covered?
