Day 28 Yesterday And No Ducklings???

Hi guys, My pied indian runner crosses were due out yesterday, and nothing! I thought maybe they were dead. When I candles, they were all moving inside, I hope to god that a moscovy drake didn't get her...... NOOOOOOOO my plans will be ruined

Oh, I sure hope the Muscovy didn't get to her! As long as they're moving there's still hope. I've had little runners hatch as far out as 30 days and as early as 26. Hang in there.

The pair were at my friends place with their own breeding pen, and he said that no scovies would have gotten in! They were in the incubator for the first 10 days, then I moved them to one of my broody ducks.

I would wait a little longer. One time my Buff went quite a few days past the 28 days- maybe even five or so. I really thought the eggs were duds, but they ended up hatching just fine. I hope everything goes well with your ducklings!

My Runners usually always hatch day 29 or 30 (usually 30).

Well they have started chipping!!!! One has a hole in the egg and I can see the beak, It is pink! and it's head is dark, so it should have a pied body also, can't wait till morning to see what has hatched, I have been waiting for this day for over a year, to get the pied ducklings, one step closer to my pied calls. I will post some pics soon

My Runners have been all hatching day 29 lately. I have some due tomorrow and have a few pipped. I dont expect to see any out until Tuesday though based on the last few hatches I have had.

I saw some lovely runners last weekend. I was fortunate enough to buy a lovely drake too!! The guy has been breeding for many years and has some lovely colours. I thought of you and your pieds while I was there...

Well great news, 7 healthy happy PIED ducklings, 1 to go, hasn't started chipping yet, not sure why, as it is alive. Anyway they are a real mixed bag of pieds! 1 is silver pied, 2 look choc pied, 1 has eyestripes and is like a natural pied, one looks caramel pied and the last one looks beige pied! Can't wait to see what they look like when fully feathered! All babies are drying off, so by morning they will be super cute, I will post pics of them tomorrow. PS ducky, lucky I wasn't there I would have gone stupid LOL.

Congrats!!!

I am down to four left still hatching form this lot. Two didnt make it through the day. They pipped internally but ran out of air before they could crack the shell.

They should be out sometime during the night or while I am at work tomorrow. Cant wait to see pics of yours...I have seen enough of mine hatching lately to know what these guys will look like - so am looking forward to seeing some other coloured runner baby cuties.
