Day 29 Duck Eggs - Help!

UPDATE: Still very little external movement - just did a quick candle and there's still lots of rippling about inside. I can't see anything beak shaped, it's around the edges of the air sac. What's going on?!

What kind of ducks are they? This reminds me of an interesting thing that happened to me several years ago. I had hatched duck and chicken eggs for years. Of course we all know that duck eggs start hatching in 28 days. Someone brought me some duck eggs they had found in a nest in an old building they were getting ready to tear down. I put the eggs in the incubator and kept them for 28 days. No pipping, no peeping, no anything. I candled the eggs again and they looked perfect. I was very puzzled. I left the eggs in the incubator a few more days and finally they started hatching. I had never seen duck eggs wait to like 34-35 days to start hatching. I also thought the baby ducks seemed different when they started growing. They didn't quack at all as they got older. I finally figured out that I had muscovy ducks (which I had never raised before). I guess you're never too old to learn something new. Good luck with your eggs!

Also, I don't count the day I put the eggs in the incubator. I start with the next day as day 1. And a power outage could make the eggs hatch a little later as could the temperature being a tad low. Your thermometer could show the correct temperature for incubation but it could be a degree or 2 off and the temp could have been a little low during incubation which could cause the eggs to hatch a day or 2 late.

Okay, now early day 30. Egg's still rippling about like mad under the shell - only a tiny tiny movement very occasionally that's visible without the candler. I am trying SO hard to leave them alone, but managed to get a quick photo to see what you think.

The bottom right is where I can see this strangle movement, what am I looking at? Does this look okay to you? I noticed the air sac is now on top of the egg, is this a problem?

Thank you for all your input! Haha I wouldn't be surprised with my luck if I've ended up with Muscovies either!

?- where was the sac before? That pic, if that's looking down from the large end of the egg, looks like it's working on internal pip to me (or already pipped? Hard to tell from one still shot). Looks like the air sac may be a bit large? But hard to tell from a pic.. Is your humidity staying up?

Oel99- crested call.. Hey! Don't call sometimes have hatching issues? I think I've heard that but not sure at what stage the issues may come??

Mccombs can you hear pecking and/or peeping? That could tell you if you've broken the internal membrane. (except that would require opening the bator.. Dang! lol)

I'm not sure if the sac was always there or not. I'm terrifying myself with Call hatching horror stories! I've just misted them, humidity is high and I'm only checking every 4 hours for about 30 secs. I couldn't hear anything last time I checked, but all still wriggling around inside. Can I help?!

I still say no, but someone else can chime in if they want. As long as they're working at it (remember those long rest periods..), I would leave them be. If you can find a church service nearby, that was the trick for me. Came home to one hatched!!! :rofl Left again for family Easter gathering and came home to three more!

I was so desperately hoping that I would wake up to something this morning! But no! Two days over now, and they only seem to move if I put them in water or shine the light in them :(
