What i do if i MUST help a baby, is take the egg out f the bator quick! and peal away the shell slowly, but not to much... just incase you feel worried and feel you must help him. Thats what i would do :) ... hang in their hun!

I burry the baby ducks if they die, i wouldnt take out out of the shell though, its stinky (yuck!)
 
I don't know how long it will take them to dry. It depends on the humidity in your incubator, I think. Usually for a brooder light, people use the red bulbs you buy at the feed store. I don't remember how many watts they are.

That's great that you have one out!

Don't worry about it stumbling about and crashing into everybody. That's normal. The cord will dry up as others have said and will take a few days to fall off completely. Once the cord is fully dry you can snip it if it is still attached to the egg - but let it get all dry and shrunken up.

Now that you have one out and making a noise the others will be encouraged.
 
ok sorry i havent been on in a few hours but i have 5 out now!!
sadly the watery yellow one died :(
but at least i have 5 heathy ones :) i have 9 more eggs to go hopefully the rest are heathy too
i will post some pics of them soon
