So I had one of them hatch a few mins ago and it of course wasn't a Pekin!! He/she is a Pekin Muscovy mix!! So that is the reason for it taking so long!!

That one's gonna be sterile when it grows up - it won't be able to produce offspring. So if it's a drake you could keep it in either pen without worrying about it messing up your breeding plans.I thought that would be the caseThat one's gonna be sterile when it grows up - it won't be able to produce offspring. Interesting I did not know that cross breed ducks are sterile. Is that the case with all cross breed ducks or just Pekin/Muscovy.

I am also at day 30 no pipping yet.
We did have a serama silkie hatch successfully last night.Question is it is alone due to the other chick dieing yesterday as this started pipping. Very sad as I was hoping they would be brought up together . Luckily my neighbour has a broody Serama silkie hatching some more chicks and I can have some of those once hatched.
Going back to the duckling . Poor little thing has a bad detatched air cell problem to deal with. I tried to candle it just now but found it quite hard to see within the aircell? Should I just leave it in the incubator. I need to know if this duckling is still alive?
