We’re on Day 7 of incubating an 42-egg assortment of breeds, shipped and local, in a forced air farm innovator, which I’ve been battling constantly to keep a regular temp.

We just candled tonight, and beside the 11 obvious clears/blood rings, the rest were actually kicking along pretty obviously! However, I have a few I’m not sure about, and was curious what you all think.

Note - I used a red sharpie to indicate the D7 air cell, so don’t confuse that with the blood ring!

Behold:

Egg 23, which has vascularization but also possibly a blood ring?

Egg 3, which has the same deal.

Egg 38 is an olive egger that was hard to see inside. It was opaque in parts, but I couldn't detect any vascularization.

Egg 20 is a Marans egg, so harder to see. I think there might be a blood ring in there but I'm loathe to crack it if I'm not sure!

Any input is appreciated!

If they are blood rings they will start to break up and disappear so candle again in a few days to see what's going on. Sometimes there's one really big, fat vein going all the way round that looks like a blood ring. As long as you can see veins you're all good.
