I have 3 RIR, 2 girls, and a roo. They are going on 6 weeks, and I moved them outside to their coop 7 days ago. They do great during the day. If they are out in the yard they run to it when scared, and after they are put to bed they lay down and sleep soundly. The problem is, I cant get them to go up the ramp on their own. It is driving me crazy! If they are running around the yard they will come to the middle of the yard and chirp loudly until I come out and put them on the ramp, even after dark!. If they are already locked in the run, they will sit by the door and chirp loudly, even thou they are standing right next to the ramp! I have locked them in the upstairs sleeping part so they get used to it, I have physically showed them where the ramp is, I have made them climb up it, I have left a light on inside so they will go towards the light. Nothing works, these chickens will just not go up the ramp on their own! I have helped the loudest one up first so maybe she will call the others, and they just stand there looking around. I am pulling my hair out, everything I read I have tried, and when I read "oh my chickens put themselves to bed on day 3 or day 5", I just want to pull my hair out some more. They come down the ramp just fine every morning when I open the door!
I have even put a small fan in the window on the left so its not so hot up there, since I live in Florida, it can get pretty hot and muggy even at night. There is a small food and water in there too! I cant make it their sole source of food and water since there is no room in there.
Here is a pic of the coop so you can get the idea.

I find they are too steep I put a box under my ramp to raise it, they can then jump onto the ramp and walk up easily

I agree with the ramp issue. Mine didn't seem comfortable using the ramp when it was that steep when they were that age. I raised the bottom with a brick and voila! They began using it no problem. After a bit, you can lower it and see how they do. I did mine in stages to allow them to get used to it gradually. Half the time they bypass it all together now and just fly up into the doorway lol
