Day 8 Duck Egg: Need Help Determining Whether Dead or Alive

Hi, I am trying to look for an answer to what is appearing in the air sac of my duck eeg, it is day 8. Also after trying the water test, the egg was standing slanted, as a day 8 egg should do, the black spot moved away from the air sac. Trying to get someanswers on if it is live or dead. Thank you

I'm no expert, but it looks to me like it is fertile! There should be a dark spot in the center, with blood vessels, and an air sack at the top of the egg, like in your picture. Sometimes it can be hard to tell, and in these instances its better to just let the egg continue incubating instead of tossing them.
